Within the University of Duisburg-Essen’s “SommerUni in Natur- & Ingenieurwissenschaften“ (S.U.N.I.) the MARIE projects M05 and S01 have been visited by a group of students who got the chance to participate in experiments on THz imaging and smoke detection.

On the open-door day at Ruhr-Universität MARIE scientists welcomed several young students and brought them closer to the field of electrical engineering by conducting various hands-on experiments. 


[10/10/2017] MINT Academy on Communications

On October 10th 2017 MARIE together with the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) organized the first “MINT Academy” during the European Microwave Week in Nuremberg, Germany. 15 female pupils from the region spent the day at the world´s second largest conference in high frequency and radar technique and got an insight into the professional world of electrical engineering. Accompanied by three students and two scientists from the chair of Technical Electronics of the FAU the pupils learned about communication technology, automated vehicles, satellite nagivation and remote sensing. The day was concluded by a visit to the Radio Museum Fuerth with a with guided tour to the history of broadcasting in the metropolis region Nuremberg-Fuerth-Erlangen.
